"We"

It bugs me so badly when parents use the term "We" when speaking of their child.

"we just got our first tooth"
-um, no YOU didn't your son did.
if you want to use "we" you could say "We survived Kaleb's first tooth" <<thus acknowledging yourself in your child's accomplishment because lets face it, teething is hard on all of us!!

"We just got our first haircut"
-hope you donated yours to locks of love!! I bet that was some LOOOOOONNNNGGG hair!!
Again if you want to use "we" say "we just got back from the barber Kaleb got his first haircut" <<again, you were there, but it was not your haircut.

"We have our first recital today"
- No, Kelsi has her first recital, you will just be in attendance.
you could say "so excited for Kelsi's recital today"

More examples:
"We just took our first steps."
"We just rolled over for the first time."
"We're crawling" <oddly enough this may be true, since you do crawl when your child does, but really, it's not that spectacular that you do it!

The reason this bothers me so badly is I feel that this wording is undermining your child's accomplishment and making it your own.  YOUR CHILD just took his first steps, just crawled, just rolled over, YOU did not.
